Dieter Schaper, Executive Search Consultant since 2007, and Senior Managing Partner at KMCG since 2008.
Drawing on his many years of international management experience with OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers to the automotive industry, Dieter Schaper uses his global network to find the best talent for high-performing teams in corporate management and highly skilled professionals for operational processes.
Dieter studied automotive engineering at the Technical University of Braunschweig, then worked for Daimler-Benz (GER), General Motors (USA) and Opel (GER) in vehicle safety where he gained his first management experience before switching to the Tier 1 supplier sector after 13 years.
He headed up product development at Autoliv Germany, launched the airbag product line and successfully introduced Ford’s first airbag as standard equipment throughout Europe together with his newly formed team.
He went on to lead the Commercial Vehicle Division (ex-Kienzle Tachographs) at Siemens-VDO for five years before becoming Global Director of Visteon’s Exterior Lighting Division, a position he held until 2007.
It is these 33 years of professional experience that convinced Dieter that he was the right person for KMCG GmbH’s executive search business. In order to keep up to date with the operational business, he is also active in innovation management.
After growing up in Northern Germany, he lived in various parts of the country before settling in the Black Forest town of Villingen in 1998.
He enjoys spending time with his family, driving vintage cars, photography and being involved in motorsport, but these days just as a spectator.
